EMUN is a mobile app solution for the children with sickle cell disease to be immune to the complications of this chronic illness. EMUN is a project initiated by Malaika Children Initiative. EMUN is a real-time mobile & web application that monitors and diagnoses sickle cell trait and disease pediatric patients through specialized medical personnel. The app is bringing maximum utilization of the available health care resources to provide better service delivery to the patients through; better health records and management, access and retrieval, schedule of appointments and real time access to specialist medical personnel, hence less expenditures on patient care costs. It’s promoting a real time interaction model between patients and doctors hence promoting patient and doctor customized care plans. High mortality and morbidity rates in sickle cell disease pediatric patients due to inaccessibility to specialized doctors and personnel, poor sustainability to treatment and misdiagnosis of sickle cell disease in Uganda is the problem, EMUN is solving for; Sickle cell pediatric patients • Specialized doctors • Patients` caregivers • Government and Acting agencies.
